FRESH FROM THE OVEN TO YOUR DOOR
Our Flint River Ranch Super Premium All-Natural
Formula is slowly
TWICE OVEN-BAKED under carefully
controlled conditions and proper temperatures.
This unique baking process changes the
hard-to-digest molecules of "raw" starches into
easy-to-digest dextrin's. This process acts as a
"pre-digest" of the kibble food, resulting in
less strain on the dog's digestive system and
allowing a greater degree of food absorption. A
dog's intestinal tract is short; it functions in
the most efficient manner when the food is
concentrated and can be quickly digested. The
important vitamins, minerals and food
ingredients can then be easily assimilated into
the dog's digestive system.
Flint River Ranch Recipes are
made from the highest quality ingredients and do
not contain meat or grain by-products, color
additives or chemical preservatives (BHA,
Ethoxyquin, or BHT). The food is naturally
preserved with mixed Tocopherols and Ascorbic
Acid (Vitamin E and C).
Some authorities indicate that
Vitamin C is not required; however, we feel it
is very important in supporting vitamin balance
and to help handle daily stress and
environmental pollution.

The Flint River
Ranch Difference
FLINT
RIVER RANCH dog food is less expensive to feed
than other food costing less. There are 80 cups in a 20 lb. bag
at a cost of 25 cents per cup. Daily feeding of 2 to 2.5 cups
costs approximately 50 to 63 cents. Compare this to a daily cost
of 70 to 90 cents when feeding 3.5 to 5 cups of a commercial
brands averaging 18 to 20 cents per cup. You will also notice
the difference in your pet's healthy skin, coat and energy
level. Healthy nutrition can also mean fewer medical bills. We
believe your dog deserves the best possible food and health.
CANINE FEEDING GUIDE
Feed your dog twice a day. Have plenty of fresh water available. Food
requirements vary depending on climate, breed of dog and exercise activity.
Following are suggested amounts. Feed an amount that will maintain your dog's
weight.

20-30 lbs 1.0 to 1.5 Cups
40-50 lbs 2.0 to 2.2 Cups

*It is better to
introduce Super Premium foods by mixing with your pet's usual
food and increasing the amount of Flint River Ranch over several
days. It will take time for your pet to adjust to the Super
Premium quality. A sudden change in any food source may be a
shock to your companions digestive system. You may notice loose
stool. If so, reduce the amount being fed until your pet
adjusts.
FELINE FEEDING
GUIDE
Because Flint River Ranch
premium cat food formulas are nutrient-dense, you should feed
20%-25% less than regular cat foods. Each serving delivers
maximum nutrition without unhealthy fillers, so you'll
notice lower stool volume and less clean-up.

It's best to introduce Flint
River Ranch Super Premium foods by mixing with your cat's
current food and increasing the amount of Flint River Ranch over
several days. It will take time for your cat to adjust to the
rich, easy to digest, all natural quality.

Feed your cat once or twice a day. If the breed is prone to
bloating or excessive weight gain (obesity), we recommend
feeding three smaller meals throughout the day. Food
requirements vary depending on climate, breed of cat and
activity level. Feed an amount that will maintain your cat's
weight, and make sure to always have fresh water available.
-
Feed
Kittens about 3 times a day up to 6 months
-
Kittens older than 6 months, feed 2 times per day
-
Adult
Cats (1 year and older) can be fed 1 or 2 times daily
-
The
amount your cat can eat in 15-20 minutes is the amount you
should serve per feeding; free-feeding is not recommended
SOFT STOOL
Premium
food is very rich and has little in the way of useless fillers -
during a change to a premium food, some pets may have a softer
stool. A premium food will start cleaning the pet's digestive
tract rather than just passing though the system. In time you
will have a firmer, much smaller stool for easy clean-up.
However, some dogs can have sensitivities to certain ingredients
in dog food.
Wheat and soy can cause problems including soft stool, gas and,
in severe cases, vomiting.
If your dog has ever
experienced prolonged soft stool, chronic ear infections,
licking between the toes or other symptoms such as excessive
scratching, this may indicate a sensitivity to wheat. Please
consider feeding your dog the Lamb/Millet/Rice Recipe or Fish
and Chips (Trout and Sweet Potato)
What is
the shelf life? Five to six months is the
recommended shelf life for Flint River Ranch. Most
commercial dog foods contain harsh chemical preservatives so
they can sit on a store shelf or in a warehouse for months on
end. FLINT RIVER RANCH contains no chemical preservatives.
It is made in small batches and shipped fresh to your door. FRR
products can be placed in your freezer to extend the shelf-life
for a few months - be careful to store properly so as not to
allow freezer burn - 3 months maximum.
Storage
Flint River Ranch recommends
storing the
food in the original bag in a sealed container. Doing
this will ensure that no old food remains in the bottom when you
add new, fresh food to the container. Remember, Flint River
Ranch is all-natural and it is best to keep the food in a cool,
dry place. Do not place food directly on damp basement or
garage floor.
How is the food
packaged for shipping?
The largest bags are 20 pounds. When you buy 40
pounds, you will get two 20-pound bags for easier storage. Flint
River Ranch packs each shipment securely in a heavy duty
corrugated shipping box.
My pet is a finicky eater. What if she doesn't
like it?
We offer a 30 day, 100%
satisfaction guarantee. If your pet does not enjoy our
food, just send back the unused portion in the original bag for
a refund. However, one of the unique properties of this
food is its palatability. The most fussy eaters have been known
to eat this food like every meal is "treat time".
Do you have a pet you
really care about?
If so... it is important to read and
understand the
ingredients labeled on pet foods. Ingredients are listed in
order of their volume percentages. For example, if soybean is
the first ingredient listed on the label, then soybean is major
ingredient in the food.
The Flint River Ranch
Story
Flint River Ranch is a private company owned by Jim Flint. The
total story spans the reality test of forty years of personal
business experience and includes the wisdom, advice, insights,
inspiration, dedication and contributions of many people.
The business was first structured to provide the very finest cat
and dog foods. Jim called upon some of the best talent in the
industry, utilized the finest quality ingredients and carefully
formulated the finest products available that sincerely
contribute to the health and quality lifestyle of our family
companions and can be honestly represented, with pride, to the
marketplace. This goal was realized. Product was manufactured
and delivered to the Riverside, California warehouse on Columbus
Day, October 12, 1993 - A fitting date for our exciting business
voyage into the future.
The second goal was to utilize the dynamic changes and tangible
forces taking place in the marketplace and the way people
purchase products. The major shift evolved from people shopping
from home to make things easier, to relieve time stress and
unwanted elements in their lives. A program was designed to keep
things simple and provide services and products that reduce
complexity for the consumer marketplace. This was supported with
a desire to merit public acceptance with strict attention to
service and for continued dedication to the business of
Flint River Ranch -
providing the highest quality dog and cat foods.
Third, it was the goal to structure Flint River Ranch as a
vehicle designed to kindle the spirit of entrepreneurship and
individual opportunity for self-employment. The business
actually belongs deep in the hearts and minds of a growing team
of Independent Associates. Dedicated individuals who embrace the
opportunity and accept the responsibility to own and manage
their own business venture and build toward their financial
independence.
Flint River
Ranch Original Premium Puppy/Adult Dog Food
OVEN-BAKED KIBBLE - Formulated for ALL
stages of life
Right away you'll notice the
difference! The Flint River Ranch formula is TWICE OVEN-BAKED under carefully
controlled conditions and temperatures - resulting in better nutrition,
palatability and digestibility for your pet. The ultimate in premium nutrition
and gourmet dining! Oven-baking changes hard to digest starches into easy to
digest dextrin's, which are readily absorbed into your dog's system.
The secret to good nutrition is
not how many nutrients are present in a dog's food, but rather,
how available they are and how efficiently they can be utilized
when digested. The good value is baked-in, not sprayed on.
Because the Kibble is high density, you feed 20%-25% less than
other foods. Each serving delivers maximum nutrition without
fillers, so you'll also notice a lower stool volume and less
clean-up.
The Chicken and Lamb formula is
made with rice and wheat. Ordinary dog foods are made with corn.
Rice and Wheat are easier to digest than corn; therefore, easier
on your dog's system. Various selected parts of the wheat berry
are used along with whole wheat flour as it is one of the most
nutritionally balanced grains. A combination of grains provides
better nutrition than one grain. There is no sprayed-on additive
or greasy coating to make the taste acceptable. Ordinary dog
foods are extruded under high pressure and extreme temperatures
and then sprayed with fat and other products in order to
encourage dogs to eat.
Veterinarians, Kennel Owners
and Breeders feed and recommend FLINT RIVER RANCH Super Premium
Dog Food. DO THE TASTE TEST! Show your dog you love him. Take
two clean bowls. Place your regular dog food in one and the
Flint River Ranch Food in the other and watch what happens. YOUR
DOG WILL TALK TO YOU. When you buy dog food, you're looking for
nutrition. Studies have shown that dogs were required to eat 3
to 4 times as much of an economy brand than a premium food to
provide proper nutrition.

as you compare human foods at the grocery store, you can compare
pet foods by reading the labels. Regulations require that

Flint River Ranch
Lamb/Millet/Rice Recipe is very rich and highly
digestible in the dog's system; care must be
taken not to over-feed. The same advice is given
with our regular Original Puppy Adult Formula.
Because the food is concentrated, a standard 8
ounce cup holds 4.3 ounces of food. This
compares to an average 3.3 ounces in most
extruded foods.
When you compare the 40-pound regular FRR
Original Puppy Adult Formula with the 40-pound Lamb, Millet and
Rice formula, the price difference is about 9 cents per pound.
Feeding 2.5 to 3 cups a day costs about 6 to 7 cents a day --
far less than prescription diet foods.
Feeding Guide:
The Lamb, Millet, and Rice food has been formulated to meet
nutritional levels established by the AAFCO Dog Food Nutrient
Profile's) for Adult Dogs. Nutritional requirements vary
according to breed, age, activity and lifestyle. Feed at least
20% less of this high-density kibble than other foods. Food is
best introduced by mixing with your dog's regular food over one
to two weeks.
The FRR Lamb and Rice formula has been
scientifically developed for food-sensitive
dogs and puppies that are prone to
allergies, especially these breeds:

other skin conditions common to breed
Dalmatians - Ideal low-purine diet for preventing

Flint River Ranch Facts -
Flint River Ranch production runs
weekly, and product is delivered to distribution warehouses
within 3 days to a few weeks of manufacture. FRR's overall
inventory turns 3 times every month. This means that it was
manufactured 7 to 8 days prior to shipping from the West coast
and 16 days prior to being shipped from the East coast. It is
almost too fresh to feed. Flint River Ranch recipes feed much
better when they are at least 30 days old and have had a chance
to slightly age and oxidize. When properly stored, Flint River
Ranch products can be fed for about 11 months. However, the
ideal period, and my recommendation is 5 to 6 months. After six
months, the product nutritional value begins to decline because
the extended exposure to air tends to over-oxidize the products
and make them stale. There is a BEST IF USED BY date
on all products, which fall into the 5 to 6 month from
cook date. However, FRR formulas can continue to be fed with
confidence another 4 to 6 months from this date, provided that
adequate storage methods are used and extremes in temperature
and humidity are avoided. The products can be frozen for a
period of approximately 3 months to extend freshness.
Our Chicken Meal and other meat
sources do NOT contain poultry by products or other by products
like chicken feet, chicken heads, duck heads, beaks, feathers,
fish heads, hides, hoofs, and intestines. There are NO breakfast
food by-products, corn, cottonseed, corn cobs, citrus pulp, soy
beans, fillers, and no screening or other foreign materials such
as noxious weeds, straw, hulls, or chaff in our product.
Most brands of dog food include
some of these by products and chemical preservatives. The use of
low quality products and chemical preservatives may be
associated with dry skin, allergic reactions, dental disease,
poor health and degenerative organ dysfunction. The average dog
(44 lbs) can consume 26 lbs of preservatives each year!
Flint River
Ranch Senior "Plus" Recipe
The Flint River Ranch Senior
PLUS formula is an all-natural, oven-baked premium health
food for inactive, overweight, or older dogs that
contains lower fat (1/3 less) and fewer calories
(1/3 fewer) than our original premium dog food formula. The

aid older, mature dogs maintain healthy joint cartilage.
Designed to help stimulate your dog's body to produce more

polyanionic characteristics, which help to provide the
lubrication needed in joints for proper function.

Glucosamine and Chondroitin Sulfate
inhibit cartilage degradation by helping to stimulate the body's
ability to produce more GAG's (glycosaminoglycans). The
cartilage-fortifying make up of the Senior PLUS formula may help
with the hydration of joints because of its polyanionic
characteristics, thus providing the lubrication needed in joints
for proper function. It is not a substitute for professional
treatment; rather, the PLUS formula is a supportive means to
assist with canine discomfort.
The Senior PLUS formula offers a natural,
healthy way to feed your dog and should be part of a complete
care program supervised by your veterinarian. There is no need
to wait for the symptoms of arthritis or cartilage damage in the
knee or elbow joints.
The Flint River Ranch Senior PLUS formula
will:
-
Help to lubricate joints
-
Provide a mechanism for nutrient
absorption
-
Support anti-inflammatory effects
on
joints
-
Help regulate activity
on

-
Inhibit enzymes that break down cartilage

Flint River
Ranch Nugget Puppy/Adult Dog Food
Each serving delivers maximum
nutrition without fillers, so you'll also notice a lower stool
volume and less clean-up. The Chicken and Lamb Nugget formula is
made with rice and wheat.
Nuggets are shaped and designed for larger dogs. It's the
same formula as our Original Puppy & Adult Kibble.

Flint River Ranch Nugget Size
for Larger Adult Dogs is about 1/4" x
5/8" rectangular in shape and is designed for larger dogs. The
nugget formula is the same as the regular adult; however, it has
a harder edge and will be a crustier, darker brown in color.
The big dogs LOVE it! This item is shipped in bags of
20 pounds or less for customer convenience. If you order 40
pounds, for instance, you will receive a shipment of two
20-pound bags
Why isn't Flint River Ranch sold in pet
stores?
Mass marketing requires aggressive national advertising,
which is very expensive. The FLINT RIVER RANCH Company capitalizes
on the marketing skills of its independent distributors. By
letting the distributors market the product their own way, the company
saves money on national advertising. This savings can be passed on
to the consumers in the form of a much higher quality food at a very
affordable price.
Is Flint River Ranch more
expensive? Absolutely Not - You
will actually realize a savings on Flint River Ranch, with fewer vet
bills. You will feed your pet 20 to 25% less of Flint River Ranch
than other brands because it is so concentrated. You won't be
wasting money on non-digestible fillers like peanut hulls and sawdust.
Of course, fresh, organic chicken and range fed lamb costs more than
road kill and diseased slaughterhouse animals (which find their way into
most commercial pet foods). Also, you will not be paying for water
(which makes up about 75% of most canned pet foods.) You will
never have to waste time and gas running to the store to buy your dog or
cat food. Flint River Ranch ships your order directly to your door
via United Parcel Service.

Super Premium Cat/Kitten Food - For all stages of life
CAT & KITTEN FEEDING
- Cats are finicky eaters. Our tests show that besides flavor
and aroma, texture and shape are very important in determining
cat food palatability. Cats first smell their food; if it passes
this test, shape then becomes important because it determines
the way it feels and breaks apart in the cat's mouth. The price
of cat food, like other products, most often depends on the
grade and quality.
FLINT RIVER RANCH cat food will actually be
cheaper to feed than other foods costing less. You will be able
to see the difference in your cat's healthy skin, coat and
energy level. Healthy nutrition can also mean less medical
bills. We believe your cat deserves the best possible food and
health. Fresh water should be available at all times as your cat
will drink more water when fed dry food. Super Premium foods
should be introduced by mixing with your cat's regular dry food
with increasing amounts over several days. Young kittens may be
started on Flint River Ranch by mixing with a little warm water.
Feed food dry as soon as the kitten's teeth are strong enough to
chew hard food (8 to 10 weeks). Feed kittens about 3 times a day
- after 6 months twice a day. Adult cats (1 year) can be fed
once or twice a day. This depends upon what keeps your cat
happy. Your cat should be looking for food when the next meal is
due. Teach them to eat at meal times. The amount your cat eats
in 15-20 minutes is about the amount they should be fed at that
meal. Adjust the food as you notice increase or decrease in the
animal's weight.

The Cat and Kitten recipe is nutritionally
complete and balanced for all stages of life. The Taurine levels
are according to AAFCO Nutrient Profiles for Feline Foods.
- Highest grade for Taurine
- Naturally preserved with Vitamin E
- Promotes low urinary pH
- Helps prevent F.U.S.
- Low levels of both Ash & Magnesium
PROTEIN: The most
important ingredient in a cat's diet is Protein. Flint River
Ranch GUARANTEES a Protein analysis of not less than 32%! The
amino acids provided by Flint River Ranch Chicken and Lamb meal
are the basic building blocks of muscle, skin, coat, bone, blood
and the immune system.
ESSENTIAL TAURINE:
The high quality Chicken Meal provides TAURINE, an essential
Amino Acid for cats, at much higher levels than the poultry
by-products used in most cat foods. Taurine is extremely
important for healthy eyes, heart, nervous and reproductive
systems.
FELINE UROLOGICAL SYNDROME (F.U.S.):
There is little doubt that F.U.S. is DIRECTLY
related to a cat's lifestyle and DIET. Low Ash and Magnesium are
important in the prevention of F.U.S. Flint River Ranch Cat and
Kitten Food NOW has less than 4.5% Ash Content and Magnesium of
0.08%. This promotes low urinary PH and helps prevent Feline
Urological Syndrome.

The needs of older or less active adult cats
change as they age. A reduced activity level and slower
metabolism may require fewer calories or less fat. Flint
River Ranch's Adult Cat Lite formula is specially designed
to meet these special needs.
Beet pulp is by far the best source of fiber.
It does a better job of moving the nutrients through the
digestive systems and acts as a calming base for forming the
stool in the colon. Vitamins, minerals and nutrients are first
digested in the stomach and then absorbed into the blood through
the intestinal walls. If those walls are covered with
slime/mucus then absorption of these life-sustaining nutrients
is reduced. Beet pulp gently massages intestinal walls, removing
the mucus and aiding in the bowel movement.
Our Chicken Meal and other meat sources do not
contain poultry by-products or other by-products like chicken
feet, chicken heads, duck beaks, feathers, hides, hoofs and
intestines. The use of low quality products and chemical
preservatives may be associated with dry skin, allergic
reactions, dental disease, poor health and degenerative organ
dysfunction.
Flint River Ranch Adult Cat Lite
food is made up of the same ingredients as the Cat and Kitten
food, but it has 1/3 less fat and 1/3 fewer calories. The Adult
Cat Lite premium formula also features:
- Chicken Meal - Highest grade for Taurine

- Naturally preserved with Vitamin E

- Promotes low urinary pH

- Helps prevent F.U.S.

- Low levels of both Ash & Magnesium
Cat Hairball Management Recipe
The Flint River Ranch Hairball Management
Formula for cats is an all-natural, oven-baked premium cat
food that's perfect for allergic cats, cats with
sensitive stomachs, or felines that suffer from hairball
build-up or food-related allergies. The Hairball Remedy recipe
has been scientifically formulated to aid in reducing the
build-up of hair in your cat's digestive tract.
A Chicken, Lamb and Herring Meal-based
formula, the Hairball Recipe cat food features a unique
blend of antioxidants and delivers an optimal ratio of Omega
3 and Omega 6 fatty acids. High in protein, fat and fiber,
the Hairball Management recipe also blends oat fiber to
support healthy digestion, yucca for odor control, and
low ash and magnesium content, which along with
pH-controlling acidifiers help promote optimal pH balance,
important in the prevention and management of urinary tract
infections and F.U.S. (Feline Urinary Syndrome).
The solution to healthy and trouble-free
hairball prevention for your cat! One customer mixed regular
Flint River Ranch Feline Formula with the new Hairball Formula
and in about 5 days her cat was only eating the Hairball
Formula. In another case, the customer reports that their cat is
happily eating the Hairball Formula and they are no longer
finding "hair logs" around the house. If you're tired of dealing
with unpleasant and marginally effective hairball solutions,
this is the answer.
